Cut to make a hole in the center after cutting the front and back to make it thinner.Mainly used to pass a string.

How to make

• Process 1

  Cut symmetrical thinning on the front and back of the branch.

• Process 2

  Make a dent by prying the central part of the symmetrical thinning with the tip of a knife.
  It depends on the thickness of the branch, but if you work until you can reach the back side, step 3 will be easier to make.

• Process 3

  Make a recess in the same way for the symmetrical thinning on the opposite side.
  If the dent made in step 2 is misaligned, it will be a hassle, so be sure to aim for a position that penetrates the dent in step 2.

• Process 4

  Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the knife penetrates and a hole is created.

• Process 5

  When the hole is empty, widen the hole to the size that the string can pass through.

Important point

Steps 2 and 3 will be easier if you make a deep cut in the center when creating the first symmetrical thinning, but be careful not to make it too deep or thin overall, as it may break.
