Saddle notch

A notch that rounds the V notch.Used when stacking trees.

Use

A notch used for intersections when stacking trees crosswise.
By fitting the groove, you can sit better.
In bushcraft, it is sometimes used to cross wood.
It is often used when assembling logs in a log house.

How to make

• Process 1

  Make a cut in a semicircle, similar to making a diagonal cut like a V-notch.
  Using the tip of the blade makes it easier to draw like this.

• Process 2

  Make a cut in a semicircle so that the other side is also connected at the bottom.

• Process 3

  Repeat steps 1 and 2 to deepen the groove.
  Don't cut deep all at once, but gradually deepen it.

Important point

It is easier to cut if you are conscious of rotating your wrist.
If you are not used to it, try practicing the V notch first.
